Calvin puts up the shop as collateral to bail Romadal out of jail; Isaac gets a little too big for his britches, and it gets him fired; Jimmy's campaign needs an infusion of cash; and Yinka and Vivian get comfy at Jen's B and B.
Things get a little hairy at Calvin's shop when he begins to spend more time with his second family and overlooks the business. Also: Yinka's in a lather after Isaac steals a famous client from him; Romodal goes to jail for assault; and a ventriloquist and his dummy cause problems at Jen's B&B.
Calvin neglects his business while spending time with his “new” family; and Jen and Dana have business problems of their own involving their proposed urban bed-and-breakfast. Elsewhere, Malcolm drops his lawsuit; Isaac is concerned about Terri's abusive relationship; and Jimmy's campaign manager (Lalayna Masters) questions his chances of being elected.
Calvin demands that Yinka and Terri attend a drug rehab and then confronts his mom (Roz Ryan) about his dad's second family. Also, Jimmy meets his opponent (John Rubinstein) for alderman; and Jen and Dana (Lauren Tom) decide to open an urban B&B.
Calvin puts up surveillance cameras in the shop and discovers a secret about his employees; Jen is disturbed that Calvin makes more money than she does; and Isaac begins dating white women to impress Terri. Also, Eddie's new relationship causes him to experience strange emotions; and Calvin learns that his poppa was a rolling stone who had a second family.
Jen finds herself in a competition with her sister (Marcia Wright) to find Calvin the perfect gift for his birthday; and Terri finds marijuana in Romadal's locker, which she shares with her co-workers. Also, Yinka tries talking dirty to Jen's gynecologist; and Claire (Sheryl Lee Ralph) reveals a shocking secret to Eddie.
Calvin and Jen dine with a couple (Lauren Tom, Kipp Shiotani) who express their feelings in an unusual manner; Michael breaks up with Terri, while Isaac hooks up with Michael's sister. Also, Eddie picks up a mysterious woman (Sheryl Lee Ralph) in a bar.
Owner Calvin (Omar Gooding) hires his wife's relative, an ex-con with a bad reputation---and an even worse attitude. Meanwhile, hotheaded Terri's identity is stolen; and Calvin tries to help Nigerian-immigrant Yinka bone up on talking dirty to women.
