The Bachelorette Episode Recap: Week 3 Season 7, Episode 3

It's the Bachelorette episode viewers have been anxiously awaiting and just about the worst week Ashley has probably ever had. After a roast that hit her where it hurt most and played to her insecurities, Ashley's fears were further realized when Bentley (or as previous contestant Ashley Spivey likes to call him on Twitter, #BadNewsBentley) decided to leave.

Chris Harrison begins the episode by telling the men there will be a group date and two one-on-one dates . Ben C. gets the first one-on-one with Ashley who explains that they'll be partaking in a flash mob. After the two learn some dance moves, they go to a park where Ben is shy about shaking his booty. But soon the music starts ("Like a G6" is the song) and Ben and Ashley start rocking, along with the other park-goers in on the event. Once the song wraps the group who sings it, Far East Movement, appears on stage where the couple continues to dance and sing along. The crowd yells for them to kiss and they oblige.

Later that night, Ben and Ashley have a fancy dinner. There he explains that he's looking for an extraordinary everlasting love which blows Ashley away. (Because we all don't want that.) Needless to say, he receives the rose.

Ames, Ben F, Jeff, Lucas, Nick, Ryan, William and Bentley get ready for the group date, but before they leave Jeff has one thing he must do — remove his mask. After doing so he reintroduces himself (creepily I might add) and Ashley remarks (behind Jeff's back) that he looks older than she had thought. Now that the mask is gone, the group goes on their merry way to a comedy club in Hollywood. Famous roast-master Jeff Ross is there to greet them and explain what they'll be doing — roasting Ashley. Although the first few guys like Lucas and Ames choose to make fun of each other, Jeff, Ben, Bentley and especially William go after Ashley pretty hard. "One man's trash is another man's treasure," William says before adding, "I thought I was signing up for Emily or Chantal." Ouch. Although a few of them make jokes about her small chest, it's the "Brad's leftovers" comments that hurt the most. After the roast Ashley walks off and cries.

Bentley wastes no time before he swoops in to "make her feel better," but admits it's just  an opportunity to mess with her head. Ashley also takes some time to confront Bentley about what Michelle Money told her from being friends with his ex, but he chalks it up to his ex not being a great source of info. After they cuddle, Ashley joins the group and tells the guys that some of the comments really struck a chord with her. William asks to speak to her privately and begins tearing up when he says the roast was the dumbest thing they could do on a date. He knows he's going to have trouble making it up to her and offers to pack up his stuff and leave. Whereas Ashley says she just wanted him to comfort her, instead he walked away. Luckily Ryan P. comes to the rescue and assures Ash that she's who he wanted to be the Bachelorette. It leads to a kiss ... and the group date rose.

As Ashley is saying  she would just love to run off to Salt Lake City with Bentley, he shows up to the house to tell her he's going home. In his interviews with a producer, all he seems to care about is if his hair will look good while dumping Ashley. Yep, this guy is beyond awful. Bentley explains that he can't stand to be away from his "angel" and needs to go home to be with his daughter. As Ashley tells him she pictures the end of her journey with him, Bentley is talking about how annoying she is while crying, and that she straddled him while saying goodbye. He finally leaves and Ashley cries hysterically in bed claiming her heart is broken.

Poor JP has his solo date with Ashley, who is clearly not up to much. But the two stay in for a quiet evening and JP seems to put Ash at ease. After getting in their pajamas to just hang out, Ashley gives him a rose.

Before the rose ceremony, Ashley chats with Chris and admits she was falling in love with Bentley (seriously?). Chris tries to make Ashley see the real jerk Bentley is and says a real man would've moved heaven and earth to be there. Ultimately Ashley decides she wants no cocktail party and gives roses to Constantine, West, Mickey, Ben F, Blake, Nick, Ames, Lucas and William. Jeff (who burns his mask) and Chris D are going home.
