Bachelor Pad Episode Recap: Week 5 Season 3, Episode 5

This week's Bachelor Pad begins with Blakeley celebrating the fact that her "shady" partner's plan didn't work and instead her alliance had her back. And now she's more than ready to get Chris, who's hiding in his bunk bed, out of the house. Of course, instead of manning up, Chris looks to call out Kalon for possibly lying to him about his vote. "I need to smack that kid in the face," Chris says before calling him an idiot to his face. Chris next goes to Ed and asks why he too lied to him. "I had to do what my partner wanted to do, respect that," Ed says. Chris then gets heated and he and Ed go at it. Chris seems to be making enemies left and right.

It's challenge time, and the players must race while carrying cups. Fortunately for Blakeley, her years working at Hooters are a major advantage, she says with genuine excitment. "The Great Fall of China" begins and Blakeley takes the lead. The other ladies, meanwhile, are dropping china cups left and right. Sarah comes out and crosses the line first, but is disqualified for apparently touching the cups midway through. Blakeley is the ultimate victor. The men's attempt at the race goes much quicker when Tony, Blakeley's new partner, rocks and wins it.

Chris Harrison comes into the house and asks Blakeley if she's taking Tony on the date. Because she is, and he's already safe, she can hand out the rose to one of the other guys. She chooses Kalon, which is Chris' worst nightmare. Finally, Chris tells Blakeley she has her choice between two dates, one overnight and one not. She chooses the overnight, which leaves Kalon to his one-on-one that day. Still with me?

Kalon's date card comes, and he chooses Lindzi, who receives a big box of diamonds to go with the Bentley they'll be taking to their extravaganza. They ride off and wind up on a deserted bridge, shut down just for them. There a romantic dinner is set with a chandelier and all. It's their first proper date, even though they've been spending the entire time in the house together, and Kalon tells her how much he likes her. "Finding you is the most pleasant surprise I could've ever dreamed of," Kalon says before saying he might be in love with her. Lindzi even says America didn't get to see the Kalon she has seen.

Blakeley and Tony leave for their overnight date with a map and some random keys that belong to a jeep. Not exactly the helicopter that Blakeley was hoping for. Their drive leads them to a trailer and they're not so sure they made the right choice . But they make it work and have a pretty deep conversation during which Blakeley opens up about being reserved when she likes someone.  Later Tony turns up the country music and the two slow dance and share their first kiss. Did anyone recognize the song by the way? Yep that was Mr. Wes Hayden's famous song from Jillian's season.

Back at the house, Rachel takes Michael on a mock date that he's set up for them to snuggle and spend time together. Rachel says she feels like she's falling in love. That makes how many couples this season? The next morning, the scheming continues as Chris makes it his mission to get Kalon back and get his girl Lindzi out. Tony has a rose to hand out still so he could possibly save her or get Chris' partner out for Blakeley's sake. So who does he choose? Well he can't get his answer out because Chris interrupts him for a chat. He campaigns for Sarah, but Tony gives it instead to Jaclyn.

During pre-rose ceremony time, Chris comes in and announces it's time to shake things up. The new plan is that everyone, guys and girls, will be voting for one woman to go home. That woman will then choose the man to go home with her. Now that's a twist. Everyone decides not to vote Sarah out because she would take Michael. So, Michael decides to make a play for Erica, hoping that Erica will think it was Chris who wanted her out.

While everyone is plotting, Ed and Jaclyn get into a conversation about Ed saying he wasn't in any type of relationship in front of everyone. He apologizes as Jaclyn tears up over the fact that she has feelings for him and he's not sure what he wants.

Erica learns that she's on the chopping block and that Chris is behind it. Michael is feeling confident that his plan is working and even calls it a stroke of genius. Chris pulls Erica aside and tries to plead his case and shows her that he's voting Lindzi. Now Erica is really confused and starts to rethink how loyal her buddy Michael is.

Everyone walks out for the rose ceremony and they hand out the roses. Erica is going home. Who will she take with her? "I am going to try to change things before I go, break up an alliance," she says announcing Michael's name. Immediately Rachel is in tears. She wants to leave with him but he tells her to stick it out. Then all hell breaks loose when Rachel calls Erica a liar and Erica calls Michael a master manipulator who's a crappy friend. But at least Michael admits he did get caught trying to get her out. "The smartest thing Holly did was dumping you and marrying Blake," Erica adds. Ouch! But sort of also hilarious. Maybe Michael isn't the guy America thinks he is.
