The Bachelor group is headed to Las Vegas and these women are about to show us why it's nicknamed Sin City. The women open the doors to their suite and incredible doesn't describe it. The first date card is revealed and it's for Shawntel. The card reads, "Let's end tonight with a bang." She jumps into Brad's arms when she sees him and then they're off to a mall for a shopping spree. At least if she gets sent home tonight, she's leaving with a boatload of expensive clothing.
That night, a very dapper Brad and Shawntel go on the roof of their hotel for a skyline view. Shawntel is nervous about opening up about her profession as a funeral director and embalmer. He says he's fascinated, so she tells him what it really means and he's a little regretful that he asked. But at least they're able to laugh about it and with that, she gets the rose. "I think you're the hottest funeral director I've ever met," he adds.
The group date card arrives and it reveals that the two women not going, Ashley H. and Ashley S., are left for the first "two-on-one" date of the season. But before they face off, the rest of the girls go to the Las Vegas raceway, a very questionable choice considering Emily's late fiancé was a NASCAR driver. Brad notices Emily's behavior and pulls her away for a private convo. She tells him and Brad responds, "I feel like a jerk." (And for Chris Harrison's explanation as to why they chose that date for them, read his interview here.) She gets into the car to face her fears and after a few tears, she's off.
At night on the group date, Brad pulls Emily aside and some of the others get very jealous, including Alli who says, just because she comes in with the worst story, doesn't mean she should get all his time. Ouch. When she finally gets him alone, she cries that she doesn't feel special. Chantal echoes his sentiment but throws in, "it makes me love you even more," but then she backtracks when she realizes she threw out the L-bomb. Next, Michelle gets some time with Brad and doesn't waste time before pulling him in for a kiss. He then grabs the rose, but gives it to Emily, not Michelle.
Brad knows the two-on-one date is going to be uncomfortable. They head to Viva Elvis and are going to be part of the show —reminiscent of Bachelorette Ali's Lion King date in New York. Brad is tasked with casting which lady he wants to perform with. So who does he choose? Ashley H. I'm surprised. Are you? She did get the first impression rose, after all. And to hit her where it hurts, Elvis' "Are You Lonesome Tonight?" plays as she cries in the limo ride out.
After the date, Brad calls his therapist, who reminds him of the big picture: Find a wife. I zone out as they continue talking. (I want reality entertainment, not a therapy session!) Finally, he hangs up the phone and is ready for the cocktail party.
Brad first speaks with Chantal, and she says she wasn't expecting to feel what she feels. Next, he grabs Alli for a private champagne toast to make her feel special. During Michelle's time with Brad, she gets very controlling, and he is clearly turned on by it.
Time to hand out the roses. Along with Shawntel, Emily and Ashley H., Michelle, Alli, Britt, Jackie and Chantal receive roses. We say goodbye to Lisa and Marissa.
