Premise: Emmy-winning tales of a young girl in Avonlea, a town on Prince Edward Island, based on Lucy Maud Montgomery's stories. Produced in Canada, it also aired under the title `Road to Avonlea' and featured top guest stars like Christopher Lloyd, Colleen Dewhurst and Faye Dunaway. The series followed Sara Stanley (a role that helped launch indie-film star Sarah Polley's career), who finds herself surrounded by colorful kin and visitors during the years leading up to World War I.
