Mad Men

Mad Men
10/9c AMC
A splendid third-season opener offers some tiny clues to Don's past, and sees the firm mired in some corporate skulduggery as the result of being placed under "British rule." One-third of the staff has been downsized, or in the term of the times, "fired," and that proves to be a boon for Pete and Ken, leaving one of them pleased and the other upset. Don and Sal are dispatched to Baltimore to put out a fire involving a concerned client, and both men wind up spending a hot time in the old town.

Army Wives' Star Dishes on Denise's Affair

Terry Serpico

We're only a few episodes into Season 3 of Army Wives, but the drama is already at an all-time high in the Sherwood family. TVGuide.com caught up with Terry Serpico, who plays the stringent Frank Sherwood, to find out what he thinks drove Denise to have an extramarital tryst, why her best gal pals are giving her the cold shoulder and what's next for the troubled couple.

TVGuide.com: So where do we pick up this week with the Frank-and-Denise saga?
Terry Serpico: This week, Frank is on his way home [from his mission]. He's on his way to deal with his domestic situation under the guise of being reassigned. But the unspoken assignment is to deal with his wife. And in his return, there is the obvious confrontation where he wants to hear from her about the affair. All he knows is she's been terminated from her job and the rest is all rumors.

TVGuide.com: Why do you think Denise, who was once such a doting wife, ended up having an affair?
Serpico: Denise was kind of denied a ... read more

You'll Never Guess What Army Wife Pam Tackles Next!

Brigid Brannagh, Army Wives

This week on Lifetime's Army Wives (Sunday, 10 pm/ET), Pamela makes her debut as the leader of the new Army Family Team Building support group, a lark by which she'll get some insight into guy pal Roland's increasingly troubled psyche. But what else might the tomboy wife tackle in the weeks to come? Brigid Brannagh gave us a sneak peek.

TVGuide.com: What is Pamela up to this season, besides heading up the AFTB?
Brigid Brannagh: Well, there's that, and there actually are a few professions for Pam this year, as she searches for herself. She's all over the place, which I think is kind of funny. I mean, she's going to ... read more

Billy Elliot, the Musical with a Tony-leading 15 nominations, is expected to dominate the evening, but whether it does or not, it will be a great night for lovers of Broadway. Army Wives' Sally Pressman Promises Cliff-Hanger Resolutions

Sally Pressman

Army Wives' season finale left several unanswered questions: Will Roxy lose her bar? Is Claudia Joy leaving the base? What will happen to those philandering Sherwoods? But according to Sally Pressman, who plays the spunky Army wife Roxy, these questions will all be answered at the start of Season 3 (premiering Sunday, June 7 at 10 pm/ET on Lifetime).

"We have a new group of writers and together with the show-runner, they had an idea which of the problems they were going to ... read more

Mega Buzz on Grey's, Fringe, Supernatural, Army Wives and More!

Ellen Pompeo (Grey's Anatomy), Joshua Jackson (Fringe) and Jensen Ackles (Supernatural)

Every week, senior editors Matt Webb Mitovich, Mickey O'Connor and Tim Molloy satisfy your need for TV scoop. Please send all questions to mega_scoop@tvguide.com.

Any scoop to get us Mer-Der fans through the dog days of summer? Perhaps some "baby talk" about Grey's writing in Ellen Pompeo's pregnancy? — Hillary
MATT: Both Chyler Leigh and I are of the mind that Grey's Anatomy would be hard-pressed to accommodate Pompeo's pregnancy, if only because of the timing. "As far as I know they are not [writing it in]," Leigh told me, pointing out that by the time the ABC serial resumes production, "Ellen will be, like, seven months [along]." The only way I see it happening — and at least one source allows, "It could go either way" — is if Season 6 picks up five or six months after the recent finale. Such a jump would also allow poor George time to heal and look like recast Eddie Cibrian. (I kid!)

If Fox is serious about Fringe (and aren't we all), why is it forcing it to compete against CSI, Grey's Anatomy and The Office on Thursdays? — Anita
MICKEY: At first blush, moving Fringe to such a powerhouse night would appear to be a suicide mission. But Fox entertainment prez Kevin Reilly ... read more

Mega Buzz on Grey's, Housewives, Lie to Me, Bones, Life & More

Eric Dane (Grey's Anatomy), Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives) and Tim Roth (Lie to Me)

Every week, senior editors Matt Webb Mitovich, Mickey O'Connor and Tim Molloy satisfy your need for TV scoop. Please send all questions to mega_scoop@tvguide.com.

I adored the "McFamily" scenes last week on Grey's Anatomy. What's next for Mark, Lexie, Meredith and Derek? — Kelly
MATT: For Mark and Lexie, much cuteness is on the immediate horizon. I mean, as much as Thatcher Grey makes my skin crawl (no offense, Jeff Perry!), the way things play out when he returns is better than I expected. For Mer and Der, there's the none-too-small matter of a stern ultimatum coming from the bride. As that gets sorted out, the would-be marrieds will find cause to fast-track their wedding, so get to updating that website, illing Izzie!

So I'm guessing that Gaby will be hosting the spoiled teen diva on Desperate Housewives. They should totally get Selena Gomez to play the part! — Darcy
MICKEY: I like where your head's at, Darcy, what with the Disney/ABC corporate synergy and all. It won't be Selena, but the Housewives casting elves ... read more
