America's Most Wanted

America's Most Wanted
9/8c Fox
Crimes against children have always been a particular focus on America's Most Wanted, and its 23rd season opens with the searchlight out for two suspected Texas predators. One, a Honduran-born woman named Berny Figueroa, is charged with killing a 2-year-old Brenham, Texas, girl she was babysitting in March 2008. The other case is much older: the 1990 abduction and sexual assault of an 8-year-old. Thankfully, victim Jennifer Schuett lived to tell about it, and she joins Walsh to do so tonight.

Carly and her pals want to go to a mixed-martial-arts fight, but they must sneak out of her place to do that. To aid them in this endeavor, they resort to using look-alikes that will fool Spencer into thinking they're all still home. Hardly a foolproof plan, but it just may work since Spencer is a little preoccupied building an enormous version of Newton Balls. — Jennifer Sankowski

Case Closes on Killing of America's Most Wanted Host's Son

John Walsh

John Walsh, the host of America's Most Wanted, and his wife, Reve, saw the 27-year-old case of their 6-year-old son's murder close on Tuesday, when Florida police announced a conclusive link between the crime and the killer.

The loss of the Walshes' son was the catalyst for AMW, which highlights criminal cases with missing suspects, as well as for changes in the way law enforcement handles missing child cases, the AP reports.

"Who could take a 6-year-old and murder and decapitate him? Who?" Walsh said during Tuesday's press conference. "We needed to know. We needed to know. And today we know. The not knowing has been a torture, but that journey's over."

John Walsh Previews Most Wanted's 1,000th Capture

John Walsh, America's Most Wanted

This Saturday at 9 pm/ET, America's Most Wanted will broadcast its 1,000th capture in 20-plus seasons. As such, the show will originate from Times Square and also highlight some of the greatest captures in the long history of what many deem TV's first "reality series." Host John Walsh previews the milestone episode. TVGuide.com: Congratulations on capture No. 1,000.John Walsh: Thank you. It's a big milestone for us. Beyond a milestone, actually. It's a serendipitous thing because the 1,000th capture is an NYPD case. The guy was caught in Richmond by U.S. Marshalls, so we're going to film from Times Square underneath the Jumbotron, right on "the Deuce" [42nd Street and Broadway]. It's going to be a wonderful night to celebrate 20 years and 1,000 captures. TVGuide.com: Standing in Times Square, don read more

Governator to Appear on America's Most Wanted

Gov. Arnold Schwarzeneger and John Walsh by Steve Jennings/Fox

America's most buff and tough governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, will become just the latest politician to take to the airwaves, when he joins America's Most Wanted's John Walsh for a special episode. On the upcoming show (April 26, 9 pm/ET on Fox), Schwarzenegger meets Walsh at a DNA testing lab in Sacramento to discuss expanding law enforcement’s authority to take DNA samples from criminal suspects. The Governator was a proponent of a California proposition that mandates DNA testing for felony suspects, not just convicted criminals, but it's one of only a handful of states with such a law. Walsh is calling for all states follow suit, asserting that the testing not only helps solve crimes, but also free the innocent. Is Schwarzenegger mixing entertainment and politics too closely, or the AMW a good place for him to discuss relevant issues? — Anna DimondUse our Online Video Guide to see Arnold Schwarzenegger, pre- and post-governorshipRelated:• Are Politicians Going Too ... read more

NCIS' Perrette Fights Real Crime in Her Downtime

NCIS' Pauley Perrette on America's Most Wanted

Turns out Pauley Perrette isn't doing all her crime fighting on CBS' NCIS. The actress behind gothic forensic specialist Abby Sciuto turns up on Saturday's 21st-season premiere of America's Most Wanted (9 pm/ET, Fox) to help her hero, John Walsh, try to find the killers of two young girls: Raven Jeffries of Detroit and Shannon Paulk of Prattville, Alabama. But Perrette isn't just lending her face to the cases — she admirably put up $20,000 of her own money toward the reward funds and will be manning the AMW call center this weekend. TVGuide.com spoke to the actress about doing her part and what we can expect for her character this season on NCIS. TVGuide.com: Why'd you get inv read more

Fox: Follow the Bouncing Bones

David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel in Bones by Art Streiber/Fox

In recent years the Fox network has ended each season on such a high (thanks to hot franchises like American Idol, 24 and House) that we almost forget how badly Fox struggles to get traction in the fall.Perhaps sensing another fall disaster in the making, with two dark new dramas threatening to drag down its Monday and Tuesday lineups, Fox has rejiggered its fall lineup by postponing the murky New Amsterdam (about an immortal detective), originally intended for Tuesdays at 8 pm/ET, until midseason. In its place goes Bones, shifting from a tough Wednesday slot (9/8c) where this appealing procedural would have faced CBS' Criminal Minds, ABC's high-profile Grey's Anatomy spin-off Private Practice, NBC's Bionic Woman and CW’s Gossip Girl. This makes Tuesday a pretty powerful night for Fox, with the often underappreciated Bones leading into the mega-hit House. Given the level of angst I tend to hear from Bones fans who can't help themselves from expecting the worst, having been burne... read more

Premise: Criminals get publicity they don't want in this long-running series, which has been responsible for more than 1000 captures and has become an anchor of Fox's Saturday-night lineup. It features re-creations of crimes and interviews with law-enforcement personnel, and there's a number for viewers to call with leads. Host John Walsh got involved in fighting crime after his 6-year-old son, Adam, was murdered in 1981.
