The Ladder of Model Success Season 11, Episode 2

This week's Top Model is all about unobvious poses in unobvious places. But fear not, for Benny Ninja will be around to educate the girls on striking some interesting positions just in time for their rope ladder challenge. At the start of the episode, the models meet up with Benny and a model known for his "extreme posing" to practice their most unconventional posing. Not really what the purpose nor how effective the red sheer-fabric tube are in helping teach the gals, but it definitely gives the whole thing a bit more humor. Benny describes Hannah as being "lost in translation" and Nikeysha as looking like she either has gas or is going through labor. They are however, impressed with the hoochified Sheena. Back at the house, the girls do some bonding in the pool over a game of truth or dare which results in Sheena doing her best strip dance and Clark kissing Elina. The drama kicked into high gear when Hannah pushed Isis away as she danced her way into her personal space. When Hannah explains her behavior is a result of being the whitest white girl ever, this, of course, prompts a lot of smack talk behind her back. Next thing you know, a gaggle of girls ambush her and Joslyn point blank questions if Hannah is prejudice (bringing Hannah to tears). The models' challenge is to use interesting poses to make Terina Tarantino's accessories collection pop. Before long, every girl was using there feet to hold bags in their uncomfortable looking poses, and the whole thing was a disastrous result for many. But I still can't decide which is worst: Sheena contorting into a half pretzel and putting the bag between her legs or Nikeysha proclaiming how badly she has to pee before beginning? The winner of the challenge is Elina, but I'm wondering if the prize of an amazing bag filled with sparkly jewelry will be a waste on her considering she's anti anything "gender-specific." Shame. For their photo shoot, the girls are tasked with striking their fiercest poses all while hanging from a rope ladder that's connected to a hot air balloon. The wind, however, becomes a bit of a challenge in controlling things for the shoot, but it's nothing a crane and some Photoshop can't handle. At panel, we learn that instead of the Velcro jacket Ms. J peeled models names off of one by one, this cycle he will be wearing the numerical number of girls remaining around his neck. Many of the girls, including Annaleigh, Hannah, Marjorie, Samantha and McKey, had some fairly interesting poses and slip by to the next round with mixed reviews. Britney's shot is OK, but she goes a bit heavy on the fake tan for judging. Sheena, who at one point uses her butt cheeks to hold herself up on the ladder, has an interesting confrontation with the judges. Paulina questions if her boobs are real and Sheena denies it. But shortly after, she comes forth again and fesses up that her twins are, in fact, fake. Umhow noble of her? Either way the judges admit that they could spot those falsies a mile away. The best of the bunch are Lauren Brie, which Tyra says may be "the best photo in the history of the competition, and Elina, who actually does resemble Angelina in her shot. The bottom two are Nikeysha and Isis. Consensus is Nikeysha, who looked like a "paper bag with pipe cleaners coming out of it" in Paulina's eyes, needs to eat a burger - or 10. Isis, who has more confidence in the pose according to some judges, didn't dress the part at panel. And the model who is booted? Nikeysha. I was ok with the judges decision because Nikeysha's mouth was starting to get to me, but do you think she was the one who deserved to go home? Did they only keep Isis because they didn't want to get rid of the transgender model this early in the competition? And what did you think about the discrimination drama - was it valid or were Hannah's comments blown out of proportion? Premise: Aspiring models compete for a chance to break into the business in this runaway hit. Created and executive-produced by supermodel Tyra Banks, its formula of beautiful women plus unappealing behavior make it enormously popular and one of the more intriguing reality shows, with its wannabe cover girls living together in a house and, between catfights, going out on photo shoots while they vie for a modeling contract.
