America's Next Top Model: All-Stars Recap: La Toya Jackson Season 17, Episode 5

Can't we have an acting challenge every week like last week's CSI guest-starring audition challenge? No? OK, then we'll make do with the Kardashians and  La Toya Jackson as guests on tonight's America's Next Top Model.

Angelea is feeling her 716-ness after winning last week. Bianca, candid as usual, is bummed because the judges haven't seen that she's obviously meant to win the competition. Shannon and her non-lingerie-wearing self has some sort of freakout and starts crying when she talks to Bianca. Lisa to the rescue! I don't even know what she's saying with her "Bam! Boom! Pow!" and pit bull analogies, but it makes me feel that one of these girls is going home tonight. Foreshadowing and all ...

Reward Challenge

Miss J is at the Santa Monica Pier, dressed in fisherman's garb and sporting lures and flies like they're 31 pieces of flair. Random and al-luring! Today it's a carousel runway challenge, and hey — Kim, Khloe and a third, indeterminate Kardashian reveal that the winner will get to take one of their outfits home. One from their line of clothing, not off their backs. Booty tooch or no booty tooch, none of these models would be able to fill Kim's gowns.

Remember that year when a couple models almost died or maimed themselves from wearing super-tall heels? We expect (hope) there will be a similar brush with designer danger considering heels and carousels sound precarious. Here's how it plays out:

After some awkward stripper-inspired moves and working the horses ... it's a tie! The Kardashians Three decree that Bree and Lisa rocked those stationary ponies enough to both win.

Post-challenge drama: Bianca gets called out by Miss J for her bad attitude, and she starts blaming "the Christian" (Shannon) and Miss Crazy (Lisa) for her bad mood. Shannon doesn't understand why she was targeted. Later, Bre tells Bianca that there's a coalition among the models to boot her out. Can I join the coalition?

Elimination Challenge

Jay Manuel shows off a "Thriller"-esque red jacket and reveals that the girls will be portraying Michael Jackson (in a model-y, high fashion way of course) throughout his career in their shoot. So wait ... Top Model does blackface? Well, perhaps not. It's more about the trappings, not the skin tone. Whew!

La Toya comes in and makes them all verklempt. The outfits are cool, but is anyone else disappointed that his Scarecrow/The Wiz outfit didn't make the mix?

How'd they do?

Bianca - She's MJ from "Bad"; She's actually inspired, but the pose Tyra picked is kind of lame. Was this her best? I smell a fix.
Bre - She's Royal MJ with the sparkly glove, jacket and epaulets. Actually, she's kind of channeling him pretty well, but is it more MJ than Bre?
Alexandria - She's also got a glove and rocks the white socks. Quirky pose.
Angelea - She's thrusting her 716 hips up, but loses the model posing. Meh.
Dominique - Totally "Smooth Criminal." A poem in bonelessness.
Kayla - I think this is an early '80s look. She bares his/her chest. But somehow it's not flashing.
Shannon - La Toya adds her own belt to the "Bad" look. There are so many studs involved. It's a great pose, but I don't see the face.
Laura - Adorbs as usual and adds a signature move. It's strangely serene and pretty.
Allison - I love that she's the only one who got a lovely 'fro from the Jackson 5 era. It's so cute. La Toya also saw Donny Osmond in Allison. Yup.
Lisa - All over the place and fun, but let's see how the photos come out. Some painful-sounding/looking splits. Oh, surprise, her photo is of her doing the splits ... again! Andre and Tyra disagree on the merits of her photo.

Craziness, La Toya actually gets the honor and responsibility to rank the photos from best to worst, so that means, she decides who gets the stiletto boot tonight.

Best photo - Laura wins! Her granny should add some MJ clothes to her custom-made wardrobe.

Eliminated - It comes down to Angelea and Lisa, and La Toya gives the bad news and walking papers to... nobody! Michael Jackson was about love and giving, and apparently, elimination would mean the opposite of that message. But you are all on notice. La Toya won't be here next week!

How did you like the challenge? Did you like the twist at the end? Are you tired of Bianca's candidness yet?

Premise: Aspiring models compete for a chance to break into the business in this runaway hit. Created and executive-produced by supermodel Tyra Banks, its formula of beautiful women plus unappealing behavior make it enormously popular and one of the more intriguing reality shows, with its wannabe cover girls living together in a house and, between catfights, going out on photo shoots while they vie for a modeling contract.
