The Ladder of Model Success

This weeks Top Model is all about unobvious poses in unobvious places But fear not for Benny Ninja will be around to educate the girls on striking some interesting positions just in time for their rope ladder challenge At the start of the episode the models meet up with Benny and a model known for his extreme posing to practice their most unconventional posing Not really what the purpose nor how effective the red sheer-fabric tube are in helping teach the gals but it definitely gives the whole thing a bit more humor Benny describes Hannah as being lost in translation and Nikeysha as looking like she either has gas or is going through labor They are however impressed with the hoochified SheenaBack at the house the girls do some bonding in the pool over a game of truth or dare which results in Sheena doing her best strip dance and Clark kissing Elina The drama kicked into high gear when Hannah pushed Isis away as she danced her way into her personal space When Hannah read more

The Notorious Fierce Fourteen; Top Model Inauguration

Top Model has hit the Cycle 11 with its two hour season premiere and based on the first half of the episode its fairly clear Tyra Co really want to emphasize the whole looking toward the future theme of the show At the start of the episode the new batch of girls are greeted at the Top Model Institute of Technology by the Js or shall we say Alpha Jay and Beta J mdash sporting some seriously tight silver metallic jackets and white hair When the girls finally relax with their squealing of excitement they all put on some exceptionally flattering spandex outfits and wait to be photographed A few ridiculously cheesetastic special affect later Tyra appears in some black bra-dress type get-up and gives us her Oscar-winning Tyrabot performanceWe finally get to meet the models and see what their stories are and I have to say casting really may have out-done themselves this season As far as the girls who make the cut here were the ones that s read more

And The Winner Is...

Hey all! Gina here again, and allow me to be the first to welcome you to the moment you've all be waiting for -- tonight we crown Cycle 10's Next Top Model!Following suit with past cycles, the final three ladies – Anya, Whitney and Fatima – are faced with the infamous Cover Girl challenge. Not only do the girls have to memorize lines for their easy, breezy, beautiful commercial, they also have to pull off a print ad shot. But the girls are given a little extra incentive for winning tonight because which ever of these chickadees take home the title will also be lucky enough to have their larger-than-life sized picture posted in Times Square. Not a bad kick-start to a modeling career. As the girls get decked for the commercial portion of their challenge, they are graced with the presence of Cycle 9's winner, Saliesha, for some moral support. But the pressure is getting to the ever-chipper Anya as she breaks down into tears. I never pegged her as the type to let her nerves get... read more

Ready for My Close-Up

Hey Top Model-ers. Gina here again – so glad you can join us. Last week, many of you (myself included) were disappointed to see Kat go after the Tyra-shot photo shoot. Hell, even Whitney was shocked she didn't get the boot. But such is life in the land of reality competitions.Tonight's episode starts out with the final four ladies, Whitney, Fatima, Dominique and Anya. The girls arrive back to their pad to see Salesha's pictures all over the house. Of course Dominique has to make the comment that she's "the Salesha of the house" before heading to bed while the other girls take the opportunity to talk schmack about crappy eating habits. The fact that the girl can eat doesn't bother me at all. What does bother me is her make-up job in some of these scenes. Seriously though, does anyone else notice her foundation tends to be 4 shades to light for her face? For the challenge, the girls arrive in the park, and as a little change of pace, they get to play photographer for the day (cle... read more

We Are Spartans!

Hey all, Gina here again (you may remember me for my prior subbing)—and I'll be taking over for Adam with the last few episodes of Top Model. But before we jump in to tonight's episode, I just need to share one little thing from last week. Never, I repeat, ne-ver, have I laughed so hard than when I saw Lauren attempt to act. That is all.So tonight's episode started out with the usual chitter-chatter from the ladies. Whitney is freaking out from her botched performance on the last shoot, and Fatima is being exceptionally conceited. Then came the "Tyra-mail" and the girls were off. Where they ended up—by Roman ruins for a little lesson in…wait for it…gladiator combat. Fatima couldn't really seem to grasp the concept, but then again, graceful decapitation is probably trickier than it sounds. As a little surprise, instead of a pose-off type challenge, the girls had a "photo challenge" where they each were given five frames to pose while fighting a goliath-sized, grunt... read more

Viva Italia

Hello Top Model fans! So we're off to Rome. This is gonna be hiii-larious. These girls barely have a grasp on the English language so it'll be fun to watch them struggle with Italian. Even though we all knew it would work out for Fatima last week, I was kinda hoping it wouldn't and all of her hard work would be meaningless due to misplaced travel documents. Yeah, I'm just in one of those moods tonight. The girls touched down in Rome and were blown away by what they've accomplished thus far. Lauren, as she tends to do every week, explained how she never expected to make it to this point and how she was blown away by it. If only the look on her face expressed that! You'd think as a model the girl would be able to convey the emotion she claims to be feeling. But then again, this is Lauren and we all know she loves playing the anti-model model. As the girls hopped off the bus and onto the Italian cobblestone street, poor Anya fell flat on her face. What a way to kick off the final 6. Th... read more

For Those About to Walk, We Salute You

Hey party people! Before I get this thing going I'd like to share a little story. I was out last weekend and I swear I saw Marvita at a bar. She had the weird fro-hawk and everything! It wasn't until my pal Gina (substitute ANTM blogger) pointed out that I was actually looking at a dude that I decided not to walk over and tell her I blog Top Model. But I swear, the two could've been twins. Anyhow, I digress. Let's get to recapping.Things started out with the ladies reacting to Claire's elimination. Lauren was genuinely surprised that she had made it this far in the competition. I still like her but she really needs to work on that personality. I can only imagine what those Cover Girl commercials will be like. Meanwhile, Fatima made the realization that she may not be able to go abroad with the other girls since she is not a US citizen and she lost her travel documents. After the girls gathered around to cheer up Fatima, Paulina entered the loft to teach them how to have a proper conv... read more

Top Model 10 Confidential

Hey All, So I'm not blogging this week's show because lets face it...though they advertise previously unaired footage for these little recap episodes, that stuff never comes until the last 5 minutes. Do we really wanna hear Dominique brag even more about how she's got this competition in the bag? Or hear Fatima talk about how nobody else wants it as bad as she does? Instead, why don't you leave your comments about what y'all think of this season so far? Does it live up to previous cycles? Was the move back to New York enough of a change? And how about that Paulina? Let us know! And check out any of this cycle's episodes in our Online Video Guide read more

If You Can't Make It Here, You Can't Make It Anywhere

Guess who's baaaacccckkkk? Sorry 'bout my absence last week. Moving ain't fun. Shout out to Gina for filling in for me! But enough about that. Let's talk Top Model. I go away for 1 week and come back to the go-sees. Where did the time go?When things got underway, Lauren appeared to have a case of cabin fever. She had a major attitude and started flipping the bird left and right. As usual though, it wasn't long before the girls were sent off on their first mission. The 8 remaining girls were split into 2 teams. Team 1 was Lauren, Anya, Fatima, and Kat while team 2 consisted of Dominique, Stacy-Ann, Whitney, and Claire. What a way to split em, eh? The 3 girls who had all of the drama last week are "randomly" placed on a team and told to work together. Surprisingly though, things went better than expected. The only real drama happened when Pamella Roland told Whitney she would never really book a girl her size for one of her runway shows. This set Whitney off on her proud to be big spe... read more

Premise: Aspiring models compete for a chance to break into the business in this runaway hit. Created and executive-produced by supermodel Tyra Banks, its formula of beautiful women plus unappealing behavior make it enormously popular and one of the more intriguing reality shows, with its wannabe cover girls living together in a house and, between catfights, going out on photo shoots while they vie for a modeling contract.
