A 1984 newsmagazine anchored by Charles Kuralt (later assisted by Bill Moyers) that mixed light and serious reports, profiles and human-interest pieces. It was an attempt, said producer Robert Northshield, `to define what America is, where we are, where we're going, where we've been.' Kuralt also did some of his `On the Road' features.
