American Idol: It’s Been a Long Time Coming Season 11, Episode 36

If tonight's opening number "California Dreaming" is any indication how the rest of this hour will be... we might as well just check out now. The four finalists perform the song robotically, and that's not even the worst part. What the hell were they wearing? Either Tommy Hilfiger's budget got cut by 100 percent, or the contestants were forced to rummage through a soup kitchen's Goodwill bin for outfits.

But enough negativity! It's time for the results.

Seacrest fakes us out (he's been doing a lot of that lately) and for a moment we think we're going to hear Phillip and Hollie's fate, but he swiftly sends them back to their original seats.

Idol alum David Cook performs, and then Seacrest pulls the same fakeout nonsense with Joshua and Jessica. We don't have time for this Seacrest - we have lives here! (Not really).

But let's get real about things. Tonight, it's all about J. Lo (though isn't it always)? Sporting a lioness-inspired hairstyle and sequined figure skating leotard, J. Lo does work on that stage performing her latest song, "Dance Again." For a moment, we almost forget that she's 42 YEARS OLD. 42! Don't feel bad about yourself, though. If you had a bajillion dollars, you could potentially look that vibrant too.

Now that that's over with, we should probably send someone home. But that person will not be Jessica or Joshua, as they are the first two to find out they are safe.

We're down to Phillip and Hollie. Who will go home?

To the surprise of no one, it is Hollie Cavanagh. You've had a good run, girlfriend, and you've lasted about a month longer than most people thought you would. God bless.

She manages to keep herself composed, sings her farewell song and everyone cries but Phillip.

Do you think it was Hollie's time to go? Who do you think will win? Vote in our poll below!

Premise: The smash reality series showcases wannabe pop stars competing for a record deal by crooning for a panel of judges, including, most entertainingly, the acid-tongued Simon Cowell, who departed the show in 2010 after serving for nine seasons. The judges review a performer's talent (or lack thereof), and at-home viewers then vote for their favorite potential star. The show helped launch the careers of such artists as Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson and Adam Lambert.
