March 8, 2007: "Half Full or Half Empty?" Season 6, Episode 19

There were no real surprises in the beginning; though I thought Phil would be going home, somehow I'm not surprised he's staying. Jared is the first one to leave this week. Maybe it was the argyle. What the heck was that song Carrie sang? It was dreadful and she shouted the chorus repeatedly. If that's any indication of what an Idol can look forward to, I hope my favorites don't make it to that unhappy place. Let's get on with it. Antonella had a lot of hair, but finally we got rid of our controversial one She was even worse singing tonight than she was last night and she messed up the words. When will it be over? The biggest upset of course what that Haley made it through and Sabrina is going home. I cannot even understand that at all. Seriously, everyone I spoke with since yesterday disagreed on three of the four going home tonight, but everyone, and I mean every single person, agreed Haley was going home. Perhaps she got the sympathy vote. I don't get it. Sabrina's leaving Hollywood, but you know what? That's OK because she's good enough that she'll do really well. She sang, "Don't Let Go," and I think that's a good sentiment for her - don't let go of your dream! Idol announces how swell they are by giving something back to Africa and America on April 24th and 25th. They'll raise money on Tuesday by making the Top 6 finalists sing songs of hope and compassion and then that Wednesday really famous people will Jerry Lewis you into donating. It's down to Sanjaya and Sundance and at this point, it's anyone's guess. Either one can go home as far as I'm concerned. I really think there are some people out there voting for some of the worst singers just to screw up the contest. So to recap, going home: Antonella "Girls Gone Wild" Barba Jarred "Argyle, For Real" Cotter Sabrina "Say It Isn't So" Sloan Sundance "Sunshine-y Day" Head America got it half right, but sending Sabrina home was wrong, and keeping Sanjaya was way wrong, maybe unforgivable. All I can say is if people don't vote for the right contestants, Sanjaya may just win this thing. Then we'll have to watch him hula dance for the next several years. Think about it. Sayonara until next time. show less

Premise: The smash reality series showcases wannabe pop stars competing for a record deal by crooning for a panel of judges, including, most entertainingly, the acid-tongued Simon Cowell, who departed the show in 2010 after serving for nine seasons. The judges review a performer's talent (or lack thereof), and at-home viewers then vote for their favorite potential star. The show helped launch the careers of such artists as Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson and Adam Lambert.
