Married yoga teachers Eric, 41, and Lisa Paskel, 43, have the dubious distinction of being the first team ever to get eliminated on The Amazing Race before it even began, coming up short on a needle-in-the-haystack, license-plate-finding task. "It just felt so strange because that's not what we signed on for, but it worked out for the best," Lisa tells How so? The pair subsequently went on their own "amazing adventure" and may soon be back on our TV screens with a new reality show. The Emmy-winning series, which last Sunday nabbed its seventh consecutive reality-competition trophy, launches its 15th season with 12 teams in Los Angeles. While that's one pair more than usual, only 11 duos will fly to Tokyo on the race's first leg. Why? One team is eliminated before leaving the starting line. Participants include two members of the Harlem Globetrotters, a man with Asperger's syndrome, a pair of professional poker players, gay brothers, and Miss America 2004, Erika Dunlap, who is half of the show's first interracial married couple.

"Congratulations guys, unbelievable" host Neil Patrick Harris said of seven-time Emmy champ Amazing Race at Sunday's 61st Primetime Emmy Awards. "Upsets at every turn."

Harris was joking about his loss in the supporting comedy actor category to Two and a Half Men's Jon Cryer, but also ironically summing up the mood on a night when repeat winners ruled with just a few new faces sprinkled in.

Meet the New Amazing Racers

The Amazing Race 15

The cast of the 15th season of CBS' The Amazing Race includes professional basketball players, poker players, and a former Miss America.

Herbert, 32, and Nathaniel, 28, play for the Harlem Globetrotters. Maria and Tiffany, both 26, are professional poker players. Twenty-seven-year olds Ericka (who was Miss America 2004) and her husband, Brian, are also on board.
