Another medical drama, you say? Michael Vartan promises that TNT's HawthoRNe (premiering Tuesday at 9 pm/ET) offers something different.
"There are a lot of medical series out there," the Alias alum acknowledges in his TVGuide.com video Q&A. "But never has one told the story from the nurses' perspective."
TNT's new drama stars Jada Pinkett Smith as chief nurse Christina Hawthorne and Vartan as Tom Wakefield, the chief of surgery with whom she will butt heads, again and again. Vartan, though, couldn't ask for a livelier scene partner.
"She's amazing," he raves of Pinkett Smith, who also serves as an executive producer. "I really trust her creative vision."

In Into the Blue 2: The Reef, a made-for-unrated-DVD sequel streeting this week, Laura Vandervoort (Smallville) and Chris Carmack (The O.C.) pick up where Jessica Alba and Paul Walker left off, playing young lovers whose diving business gets them into trouble as deep as the water. Alias alum David Anders, who plays a cash-flashing client with an ulterior motive, gave us a peek at the pretty-to-look-at drama.
TVGuide.com: Working alongside a bikini-clad Laura Vandervoort, Marsha Thomason and Audrina Patridge (The Hills).... How did you do it, man? Was there hazard pay?
David Anders: Yeah, it wasn't a bad deal at all! To get paid to get certified for scuba-diving, and work with all those great people... .
TVGuide.com: Then again, you did have to film this in some idyllic locale.
Anders: On Hawaii, the main island. When the offer came across last spring ...

Hes one of the nicest guys in Hollywood and its been biting him on the butt. But now, Alias alum Michael Vartan is getting his grit on in the ferociously entertaining Rogue as a travel writer terrorized by a monster crocodile while stranded with an Australian tour group. And trust me, this one is sharper than your average when-animals-attack flick. Damian HolbrookTVGuide.com: Based on the DVDs cover, with the giant crocodile jaws, you think were looking at another Anaconda. But this has a very Hitchcockian feel to it.Michael Vartan: Yeah, thats Greg Mclean, the director, whos such an interesting guy, such a talented, fun guy to work with. You know, something as simple as the fact that my character and Radha Mitchell [playing river tour guide Kate Ryan] never make out seconds before impending doomwhich happens in every Hollywood horror filmwere about to be eaten by a 15-foot crocodile and you still have time to make out? Wh...

Are the Afflecks expecting a second child? Conflicting reports have emerged, thanks in part to comments from Jennifer Garner's Alias costar, Victor Garber. The actor seemingly announced her pregnancy to Us, saying, "Yes, she is," when asked if the couple was expecting a baby.Later in the day, though, Garber said his comments had been taken out of context. "I haven't confirmed that at all, no," E! reports. "I know they want to have another child and hopefully that's true, but I don't know that." He added, "I know that they are hoping to be, I just don't know that it's for sure. It's a very...personal thing."What is confirmed is that Garner's been seen around town sporting super-baggy tops, and has previously expressed interest in having more children with Ben Affleck in addition to their daughter, Violet. All of this leaves us with the same guessing game and possibly a Jack Black-like slip from Garber. What do you think he meant? Anna Dimond

After a season rocked by a writers strike, shortened episode orders and a defecting audience, all eyes are turning to the new fall season and the hope of maybe a new hit or two reigniting the business.Id hope that this fall is a reset, says Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly, kicking off his networks portion of the TCA press tour Monday (following a performance and panel from summer smash So You Think You Can Dance; Reilly, for the record, stayed in his seat). I believe in my heart it can be, particularly if there is a couple of new exciting shows joining the lineup or maybe some of the returning shows continue to find an audience.Foxs greatest hope this fall is unquestionably J.J. Abrams big-budget, high-concept sci-fi thriller Fringe, which Reilly and boss Peter Ligouri aggressively pursued. We offered him a series day one. We knew the log line, that it was sort of The X-Files, Indiana Jones kind of thing. This show...
