The famed New York acting school produced this anthology, one of TV's earliest. Marlon Brando made his TV debut in a January 1949 episode, and his sister Jocelyn performed often, as did E.G. Marshall, Cloris Leachman, Tom Ewell, Julie Harris and Kim Hunter. Also appearing were Leslie Nielsen, Rod Steiger, Martin Balsam, John Forsythe and George Reeves, and Yul Brynner directed Jack Klugman in a January 1950 episode. In March 1950 the title was changed to `The Play's the Thing.'
