Law & Order: SVU
According to Jim
8:30 pm/ET ABC
After eight seasons (which seemed to some like twice that many), this sitcom-that-gets-no-respect ends its run tonight with, appropriately enough, Jim's death. Heaven or hell? Jim is on trial before God (Lee Majors) and Satan (Erik Estrada). For Jim's sake, let's hope that there aren't any TV critics on the jury. Also helping usher in Jim's eternal reward (or torment) are guest stars Dan Aykroyd and Kimberly Williams-Paisley.
Read on for previews of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, ABC News Special: Earth 2100 , Paris Hilton's My New BFF, Man vs. Wild and Web Soup.

Yvonne Strahovski (Chuck), Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl) and Anthony LaPaglia (Without a Trace)

Chuck deserves a whole season, not just 13 episodes. Any chance of more? — Darryl
MATT: Actually, yes. NBC entertainment president Ben Silverman says that while the current plan is to deliver 13 midseason episodes, depending on the ratings, "we may extend it out and continue it through the summer," where he thinks it could pair nicely with Friday Night Lights. "We're looking to ... keep [Chuck] incredibly viral and buzz-worthy until it returns, and then hopefully have it on our air for many years to come." That'd be Awesome. And even more so? I chatted up Scott Bakula at TNT's upfronts luncheon, and he's game for more Chuck, if need be.
Any scoop on Gossip Girl's Season 3? — F.R.
MICKEY: Speaking with TVGuide.com at the CW upfronts, Leighton Meester seemed to confirm that Georgina's plan to ...

Sara Ramirez (Grey's Anatomy), Balthazar Getty (Brothers & Sisters) and Jared Padalecki (Supernatural)
Senior editors Matt Mitovich, Mickey O'Connor and Tim Molloy answer your questions ... this week a couple of days early, for the holidays. Drop us a line at mega_scoop@tvguide.com.
I heard a rumor that Sara Ramirez has been offered a TV show in which she will star. While I question the reliability of the source, I hope this is true. She is a talented actress who does not get any recognition or decent writing for her Grey's Anatomy character. — Michelle
MATT: "Que sera, Sara?" you ask? Ramirez's rep tells the Buzz, "We haven't heard that rumor" about her being courted for a series of her own. In the meantime, I'm told that Grey's' bi-curious Callie will pick up where she and Erica left off, this time with the pediatric surgeon being played by Jessica Capshaw beginning Jan. 8. But contrary to what you may have heard elsewhere, these two ...

ABC's Santa Claus came to town and found nearly nine million folks waiting for him, while Biggest Loser placed fourth with about eight mil in its first hour.
9 pm

Being on a talk show is often referred to as being in the "hot seat" — and for good reason. The host can ask almost anything, and if the guests are celebs, they might have more skeletons in the closet than most people.
