A World Apart

1970, TV Show

The generation gap was explored in this short-lived serial based on the life of daytime pioneer Irna Phillips and created by her daughter Katherine. It traded heavily (but without much success) on counterculture issues of the day and featured the TV debut of Susan Sarandon. The soap was pulled after a little more than a year, having been trounced in the ratings by `Search for Tomorrow.'
