Premiered: September 12, 1959, on NBC
Premise: Two lawmen---and two approaches to law enforcement---in 1880s Arizona Territory. The marshal wasn't shy about using force, and his deputy was a sharpshooting storekeeper who hated to use his gun. The latter was actually the leading character (hence, the title), and star Henry Fonda appeared in relatively few episodes, though he did narrate them all. Robert Redford made his TV debut in a first-season story.
