90210 Episode Recap: "Between a Sign and a Hard Place" Season 1, Episode 19

Donna opens up to Kelly about her recent separation with David, and the two search for a space for Donna's new clothing store. Meanwhile, Naomi and Annie become best buds (sort of), Silver struggles with the idea of going back to school and Adrianna interviews potential adoptive parents.

The cast seems to break off into pairs this week (for the most part), so let's break it down:

KELLY AND DONNA
Tori Spelling returns again this week, and her character, Donna, is looking for a space to rent for her clothing storefront. While she wants to move back, she tells Kelly she's still very hesitant because David doesn't want to move back — that's basically the root of their separation. So who does Donna turn to in her time of need? Madam Flanagan -- a psychic who can predict fashion trends. All she sees in her psychic vision is a foot and tells her to look for a sign. A skeptical Kelly also gets some unsolicited advice: She'll meet a man with a "six pack."

They decide to have a girls' night out, but since they're old and unhip (ha-ha), they stop two girls on the street for some nightlife advice. They recommend a place called Truck Stop, which, we quickly learn, is a lesbian bar. They have a couple of Dirty Girl Scouts (the drink, that is), dance with a few of the ladies and make the best of it. As they leave, they come across an empty retail space with a "sign" — a "For Lease" sign, that is — and it's perfect! That Madam Flanagan is almost as good as Miss Cleo, no?

But before the pair can celebrate, Donna gets a call from David, who, it turns out, is willing to lose Donna in order to stay in Japan for his career. Donna is crushed. Damn you, David — are you forgetting all those years she stood by you when you were nobody?

So, decision made. Suddenly we're at a party for the opening of Donna's new store (that was quick). Donna receives flowers from David saying he's thinking of her, but that's "no plane ticket," Donna observes.

Meanwhile, Kelly heads out to the corner store and bumps into Ryan — who, in a plot development we all saw coming down Melrose Avenue, is just picking up a "six pack." Wait a minute — Madam Flanagan strikes again! The two promptly get BIZ-AY.

NAOMI AND ANNIE
Naomi and Annie are new, sudden BFFs. Naomi picks her up for school and they're acting pretty awkward with each other — almost like they're on a first date. Annie's parents, who are gathering junk for a yard sale, tell Annie that Naomi's dad is being sued for sexual harassment by a fellow student's mom. Annie sniffs around to see if her new pal knows, but learns her dad has yet to tell her. So she stays mum about it.

Naomi's dad tells his daughter the news, and since he needs to project a more family-friendly image for his defense, her hotel-living days are over. Naomi refuses, but since Daddy will no longer foot the bill, her options are slightly limited.

When Annie asks her how things went with her dad, Naomi doesn't tell her anything. But Annie blows her cover when the student (whose mom is suing) starts trash-talking her friend. Naomi is pissed that Annie knew this whole time and didn't say anything and storms off.

Annie goes to Naomi's hotel right before she checks out and apologizes. Naomi finally lets her in, and Annie offers her house as a refuge for Naomi. Naomi is fine with it as long as the two are blunt and honest with each other from now on.

Oh, and Naomi and Liam get BIZ-AY too.

SILVER AND DIXON
Silver is getting ready to return to West Bev, but she's petrified that people will laugh at her. Dixon tries to reassure Silver after a couple catty bitches make fun of her at the Peach Pit. He should speak to her about the fluorescent-blue eyeliner as well, if she really wants her to avoid mockery.

Ethan, who cuts class with his new pal, Liam, finds Silver outside Donna's party. She opens up to Ethan about being constantly monitored. She even reveals to him that she's not returning to West Bev. Instead, she's enrolling in an all-girls Catholic school for a fresh start.

NAVID AND ADRIANNA
Navid plays Mr. Mom by trying to get Adrianna to get all her vitamins (by eating a Ziploc of kale — yummy). Navid gets overzealous about the sex of the baby, but Ade doesn't want to think about it because that would make it real — and the adoption even more real.

Ade and Navid meet with potential adoptive parents, but Ade starts to think about how hard giving the baby up will be. Navid tells her she doesn't have to give it up, but Ade says she and her mom would never be able to swing it. Navid suggests that perhaps the two of them could do it, though. Ready for the bombshell? Navid asks her to marry him and she agrees — over burgers at the Pit no less.
