90210 Episode Recap: "By Accident" Season 1, Episode 13

Ryan returns to West Beverly but seems to have lost his spark. Kelly and Naomi learn who Adrianna's real baby-daddy is, and Dixon finally tells Silver how he feels.

On Ryan's first day back, he drops a bombshell that he's pretty much over the whole teaching thing - and by the looks of it, shaving too. His encounter with Kelly is awkward as expected, but during class, he isn't the spit-fire teacher he was before his leave of absence. He even transfers Silver out of his class because she called him a "child-molesting pervert." Talk about sensitive. Dixon tries to stick up for Ryan saying that Silver can really hurt someone's feelings, but we soon realize he's talking about himself instead of Mr. Matthews. Too bad Silver doesn't pick up on it.

Ade is frazzled between her new commercial, studying for the lead role in the new school play (which Annie is vying for) and trying to figure out just how many coffees and protein bars the human body can hold without going into seizures. Either she forgot she's pregnant or is some serious denial. Naomi notices this and recruits Kelly to help her get through to her best friend. But the two end up bickering when Naomi says she should get an abortion and Kelly suggests adoption as an option. Ade gets overwhelmed and ends up driving through the night, but even her trust gallon of water can't help her from zoning and she nearly getting in an accident.

Naomi learns her mother has gone AWOL with no intentions of returning and the worst part is her father plans to sell the house, forcing Naomi to move in with him and Gayle. But things start looking up when Naomi finds a bra and various intimates strewn across the floor that aren't Gayle's. Ha. He's cheating on his mistress with a mistress. Naomi uses this info as blackmail where the conditions are simple: she will live in a hotel until her mom returns and daddy pays.

Things get spicy back at school when Ty shows up and sarcastically compliments Ethan on the way he annunciates his words while practicing lines with Annie (who wants him to try out for the play with her). But the best line of the episode goes to Ethan with the comeback: "Thanks Ty, I like the way you wear you pants one size too small." Ethan's eyes are flaming with anger as Ty blatantly hits on Annie in front of him, but Annie feels the fury shortly after when Ty knocks her audition. Ade shows up super late for her audition, and the new drama teacher, Miss Casey won't let her give it a shot. She does anyways, and ends up getting the lead as Cleopatra, while Annie is bitter she didn't get it and Ethan is perfectly content with his role as a eunuch.

Ade has a heart-to-heart with Naomi to tell her she visited a doctor and can't have an abortion. But she doesn't mean can't as in, "It's too hard, I can't." Instead, Ade means that no matter what her decision, she literally can't have an abortion - she's too far along in her pregnancy. She finally agrees to let Naomi and Kelly help, but when Kelly tells her she'll need to share the information on the baby's father, Ade tells them it isn't Hank - and it ain't Navid either. But in perfect timing, just as Ade says this, the real baby daddy shows up behind her to congratulate her on landing the lead in the play - and it's none other than Annie's old flame, Ty.

Kelly confronts Ryan for ousting her little sis from his class and all he can say is that he's "burnt out." Kelly shoots right back with "You're only 23." He ultimately reads Silvers paper that she wrote to win him over and lets her back in the class. He even starts to let the old, wise-ass Ryan shine through. And side-note: If that man can ever pass for a 23-year-old in this world, then my name is Jason Priestly.

A visibly bummed out Annie blows off the cast and crew dinner party, but tells Ethan to go on without her. At the party, Ryan shares a flirtatious moment with Miss Casey, and Ade is stressed when Ty enters. Dixon also shows up and point blank tells Silver how dense she is. Unfortunately, it still doesn't sink in that he's pouring his heart out to her, and Dixon, at his wits end, breaks up with Silver. Meanwhile, Annie's parents convince her to go to the party, and she calls Ethan to tell her she's changed her mind. But as soon as he says he's on his way to pick her up, all Annie hears is the sound of a car crash.

What did you think of tonight's episode. Did you guess Ty was the father? What's with Ryan's obsession with drama teachers? Do you think Ethan will be okay after the crash? And am I a bad person for being glad Dixon finally grew a pair and broke up with Silver?
