90210 Episode Recap: There's No Place Like Homecoming Season 1, Episode 7

After two-weeks off, 90210 has returned with an all new episode - and it tackles one of the biggest issues facing teens today: Homecoming. Naomi is distraught by Annie and Ethan's canoodling on the dance floor but has a new man trying to woo her. And Adrianne's new rehab stay won't keep her from the dance.

With West Beverly's Homecoming Dance in full force on this week's episode of 90210, we jump right into who's going, who's rolling solo and who's just not into the whole scene. Dixon asks Silver to go, but when she calls the whole thing "a big popularity contest set to music," he covers he tracks by saying he only asked because he thought she was into the whole dance thing. Clearly Percocets prescribed for wisdom teeth surgery are so much more entertaining in Silver's eyes. Ethan kinda-sorta asks Annie to the dance, but the deal is they arrive separately and rendezvous once they are there. And then, as the kicker, Naomi invites Annie to go to the dance with her and her girlfriends as one big group. So just to recap: Ethan won't ask Annie since it's too soon since breaking up with Naomi, and, now, Annie is going with Naomi since Ethan didn't ask her. Got it? Good.

Meanwhile, Adrianne, who nearly died from an overdose in the last episode, checks into some Promises-esque rehab center. Her oblivious mother tells her not worry about how this rehab-to-the-stars is being paid for, she "just wants her to get better" (read: "You better do some damn networking while you're in therapy"). Ade has been trying to reach out to Naomi, but instead, Navid pays her a couple visits to lend her a listening ear - and a travel facial kit. She begs him to help get Naomi to forgive her and come for a visit, but Navid can't deliver.

Annie and Naomi share some Q.T. while primping for the dance, and when Annie does some poking and prodding about her sentiments on Ethan, Naomi tells her she just wants him to be happy this time. And in Annie's mind, that comment is her official green light for Operation Kiss Ethan.

At the dance, Annie and Ethan bump into each other and get a bit too close for Naomi's liking. But Naomi's new Spanish-speaking friend she met in detention tries to keep her mind off it with a sultry dance. Next thing you know, out pops Adrianna who busted out of rehab to try to make peace with her best friend, but Naomi can't deal with watching her hurt herself anymore. Annie tries to reason with Naomi that friendship doesn't work that way, and Naomi, of course, plays the "friend's don't date each other's exes" card.

On the adult front, Debbie is at her wits end with Tracy after she kissed her husband, and even Grandma Tabitha tells her daughter-in-law to grow a pair and tell Tracy off. And tell her off she does at the dance. "I will hit you in the face so hard I will knock your teeth out." Wow. Granted I could think of a few other choice words to stick in there, I have to say it's about time she showed some backbone.

Ryan, who's been all over undercover Kimberly to bust her for doing something wrong, catches her buying drugs and brings her to Harry who tries to convince him he'll "handle it." But Ryan makes such a fuss that they are forced to reveal the undercover work going on. Alas, it's fairly obviously Ryan was into a "student" this whole time because as soon as he finds out she's twenty-five during their chat, he dives in for a kiss.

By the end of the episode, Silver throws on a dress (which I swear I thought was jammies prior to seeing the accessories) and heads over to Homecoming with Dixon since he was so into the idea. Annie has a guilty conscious about carrying on with Ethan since she doesn't want to do that to Naomi, but the two end up hooking up anyways - obviously.

The real kicker comes with Adrianne heads off to her dealer for a fix, but Navid intervenes and get right hook in the process. Thickheaded Ade couldn't understand why he "cared" so much, so Navid laid all his cards out on the table by saying the L-word. Yes, he "likes" her! That much was transparent, but who knew he (well more like his porn-making daddy) was the benefactor behind Adrianne's rehab stay. But all ends well when Naomi comes to her side again, and off the rehab they go.

What was your take on this week's episode? Were you into the Adrianna rehab storyline? It held my interest, but the story I was hoping for more about the Tracy-Harry-Debbie triangle and some more info on the love child. And what did you think about Ryan and Kimberly's kiss? Share your thoughts now!
