90210 Episode Recap: "That Which We Destroy" Season 1, Episode 10

Last time on 90210, the Wilson love child showed up at Annie's Sweet 16, and this week, thing picked up right where we left off leaving the family to come to terms with a new member. Also, tension mounts between Kelly and Brenda, and a secret relationship is revealed.

Annie and Naomi are stunned by the appearance of their half-brother Sean, and so is the rest of the Wilson family (except Grandma Tabitha is trying to calculate her new fake age). Sean tells his biological family he grew up in South Carolina, had a not-so-stable upbringing and was currently on military leave when the P.I. tracked him down.

At school, Ethan and Annie are officially girlfriend and boyfriend publically. In fact, they're "so together, it's like Siamese twins." Clearly Naomi is less than thrilled, but Annie takes a caddy turn for the worst when she starts trash talking Naomi behind her back and becomes all around bitchy and self-absorbed. Ethan isn't a fan of the transformation, nor is Kelly who tries to get the girls to call a truce in her office. All she manages to accomplish is lecturing them on the importance of girlfriends over boyfriends by using a potted plant as her metaphor.

Naomi finds a new crowd to hang with since she's no longer "the jock's" girlfriend. And these gals are dubbed "the blendeds." Why? Because they don't eat but rather drink their meals in blended beverages (yes, obviously the girls on this show are in dire need of losing a few). They test Naomi's worthiness by having her do menial tasks for them like fetch more drinks or program their sidekicks. (And note to CW:  Those gratuitous close-ups of the phone were a bit much. Product placement is bad enough, so don't make the experience any worst than it already is) The real challenge comes when Naomi has to get reservations at the new dinner hot-spot that's booked solid. Good thing Ozzie is a host there. Naomi calls in the favor, but Ozzie makes it very clear she owes him for his good deed.

In alum news, Kelly stops by Brenda's play to congratulate her and give her a gift (which happened to be the potted plant from her girlfriend lecture earlier in the day). Brenda is supper standoffish but Kelly is persistent they have lunch. At lunch, though, we get a glimpse of the past tension the two always seemed to have when Brenda point blank tells Kelly they have nothing in common and doesn't think "history" is enough of a reason to keep moving forward. Ouch!

Meanwhile, Dixon is getting more and more stressed out by the fact that his dad is playing father to his biological son and not noticing him. But while Harry is wining and dining Sean, someone else is taking note of Dixon — the cute cheerleader on the lacrosse team. When time comes for the championship lacrosse game, Dixon unleashes his anger and resentment out on the field forcing his dad (the stand-in coach for Ryan) to pull him from the game. The two have a heart-to-heart and all is forgiven. Somehow I think Dixon will be reaching out to his birth parents shortly based on the convo, but that's just me.

The episode wraps up with all sorts of craziness. Ozzie cashes in on his favor from Naomi by requesting a kiss which not only lands him a passionate smooch with Naomi. Kelly is called to the hospital as Brenda's emergency contact after she falls off the stage (wtf was that random fall all about?), and Brenda reveals she was trying to push Kelly away because she felt guilty for sleeping with Ryan. Guess high school never ends no matter how old you are. And last, but certainly not least, Sean is welcomed into the Wilson home with open arms, but the episode closes on him making a shady call that implies he's plotting something sinister.

This week's episode definitely raised a lot of questions for me. First is the obvious one: Who was Sean calling and what's his deal? Is he in cahoots with someone to bleed the Wilson's dry? Could it be Tracy that's in on it with him? Or perhaps he's not even the love child in the first place. I couldn't quite make out if he still had a southern accent when he was whispering. Next up is Brenda being super weird and falling off stage randomly. There's gotta be more to it than her sleeping with Ryan (but I totally called it when they went home from the fashion show together). Then I'm curious about Adrianna who not only didn't stick up for her supposed best friend or sit with her at lunch and then randomly start puking because of a smell. Hmm...are you thinking what I'm thinking on that latter half?  What did you think of tonight's episode? Have any theories on some of the unanswered questions? Let's hear it!
