Robbie Rogers, Major League Soccer s first openly gay player, was expected to take part in his first game with the Los Angeles Galaxy on Sunday night.
The 26-year-old winger was introduced to the media a day earlier as the newest member of the Galaxy.
In February, Rogers revealed he was gay in a blog post, and simultaneously quit soccer.
I kept my secret because I thought I couldn t be both a soccer player and a gay athlete, Rogers said. watch
