Yankee, Broadcaster Bobby Murcer Dead at 62

Bobby Murcer, a onetime clutch-hitter for the New York Yankees turned broadcaster for YES and other outlets, died Saturday, 18 months after undergoing brain cancer surgery. He was 62.
"We lost a great Yankee, and a great friend," Yankees manager Joe Girardi, who used to work with Murcer in the broadcast booth, said after Saturday's game, when the news broke. "He was an inspiration to all of us." -
