Stacey Dales by Rich Arden/ESPN
ESPN college-basketball analyst
Stacey Dales
is retiring from her other job: forward for the WNBA's Chicago Sky. Dales, who also covers the NBA and college football for ESPN, played five years in the league - and actually retired once before, between the 2004 and 2006 seasons - and led the University of Oklahoma to the 2002 Women's Final Four. She'll continue to work for ESPN, including Tuesday night's
NCAA women's basketball championship game (April 7, 8:30 pm/ET, ESPN)....
New York Mets third baseman David Wright makes his third appearance on
Late Show with David Letterman next Monday (April 14, 11:35 pm/ET, CBS)....
CBS'
Billy Packer and ESPN's
Dick Vitale have both been elected into the
National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame. They'll be inducted Nov. 23 in Kansas City, Missouri.
UPDATE: On Monday, Vitale was also been elected into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. In a statement, Vitale said: "Goosebumps ran through my body when I received the call. I am in awe, absolute awe, of the people who have been enshrined. I am honored to be included with those greats who have been so much a part of my life. I wish my mom and dad my greatest inspiration - were here to experience this honor with me. They would be so proud. Basketball has given me a life that has exceeded any dream I ever had. This tremendous honor is to be shared with my colleagues who have meant so much to me over three decades at ESPN and the coaching career that preceded it."
