Where We Left Off: Days after being kidnapped by Rumple's mother, the Black Fairy, Rumple (Robert Carlyle) and Belle's (Emilie de Ravin) baby son Gideon (Giles Matthey) returned to Storybrooke as the fully grown man under the hood in Emma's (Jennifer Morrison) visions. Gideon is in town to kill the Savior and exact revenge on his parents who let him get kidnapped. Meanwhile, Emma and Regina (Lana Parrilla) get stuck in a wish-realm after Regina discovers a wish-version of Robin. Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Charming (Josh Dallas) are still separated by a sleeping curse that only allows one of them to be awake at a time, and they must find the cure while also trying to save their daughter's life.
What's Next: To fully understand why Gideon is after Emma, we have to know what his backstory is with the Black Fairy. Once Upon a Time will dedicate an entire episode to show what happened to Gideon after he was kidnapped and how the Black Fairy became the Black Fairy and left Rumple behind as a child. Regina has another shot at a happy ending as wish-Robin makes the return trip to Storybrooke, but this new version of her soul mate is darker than the previous one and that's going to cause some tension between them. Most importantly, though, Once Upon a Time will go the musical route in their penultimate episode, featuring seven songs that will further the plot and propel fans into the finale. Oh, and if you think the Evil Queen is going to stay locked in a cage for that, think again. She's coming back, and with a major grudge.
