Please settle a bet between my niece and I. She says Austin Peck is the original Austin Reed and Lisa Rinna was not the original Billie on Days. I say she is totally mistaken, as I have been watching Days for at least 30 years. — Anxious Auntie

Looks like your niece owes you a fancy dinner, because you're right on both counts. Peck is not the first actor to play Austin Reed on Days. Introduced as a love interest for Carrie, Patrick Muldoon originated the role in 1992. He stayed for 3 years, then left to pursue a film career, starring in Starship Troopers with fellow soap alum, Casper Van Dien (ex-Ty, OLTL) and Dina Meyer (ex-Lucinda, 90210). Recently, Nathan Hastings was brought back to The Young and the Restless for a short time when a dying Olivia entered a spiritual plane. Many people I've talked to believe that this was the only actor to play Nathan. What other actors have played Nathan and which one returned for this recent appearance? — Bobbi
Dear Bobbi,
Three actors have played the role of Nathan Hastings. Nathan Purdee (who now plays Hank Gannon on One Life to Live) originated the role in 1985 and played it until 1992. The next Nathan was Randy Brooks, who played the part from 1992-93. Adam Lazzare-White was the third and final Nathan from 1994-96. Lazzare-White reprised Nathan during Olivia's recent trip to the great beyond. (MJM)

On GH, Mike is in desperate need of fast cash to pay off a hefty gambling debt, but this isn't the first time Hale's portrayed a character facing this very problem. As the villainous Dr. Roger Coleridge on the working class soap, Ryan's Hope, Hale's character stole $6500 to pay off his bad bets. Hale was a part of the original cast when the show premiered in July in 1975, and stayed on the show for its fourteen-year run. His magnetic performances earned him back-to-back Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series Emmys for the 1978-79 and 1979-80 seasons. Any show worth its salt knows that bringing back an old fave is definitely going to generate viewer interest. Days certainly accomplished that with Isabella's short, but sweet return. It's a shame that Izzy B. died on-camera in John's arms. Otherwise, it'd be great to have her back on a regular basis, especially in light of her and John's son Brady being aged. I have been out of the loop concerning Y&R for some time now. Could you
please update me about Katherine's granddaughter Mac? I know that Kay met her in a homeless shelter and discovered that the girl was Brock's long lost daughter. But how did she make that conclusion? Is Mac indeed Kay's granddaughter or is she an impostor? How did Mac end up homeless in the first place? Why does Jill hate her so much? It seems like Billy causes more trouble than Mac does and that Mac is actually a sweet girl. Does Jill hate her simply because she is related to Kay? And where is Brock now? I watch The Bold and the Beautiful pretty regularly, but have missed some shows this summer. I'm totally confused by the Morgan pregnancy storyline. I knew she asked Ridge to father her child and he refused. Did he change his mind, because now Morgan is pregnant? Why is Ridge acting so surprised about the whole thing? Is she trying to keep her pregnancy a secret? Please shed some light on the situation. — Tracey

Ridge initially refused to be the donor for Morgan, who wants desperately to have his baby. Then, Taylor went out of town to visit her ill father, Jack Hamilton. Sensing a window of opportunity, Morgan forged an email from "Taylor" telling Ridge that it was okay if he acted as the donor. The real question is what haven't Danny and Michelle gone through? The couple didn't exactly get off on the right foot since Michelle had killed Danny's brother, Mick, in self-defense. Danny and Michelle agreed to fake romantic feelings for each other so that the Santos family would spare Michelle's life. Then, they fell in love for real. Next, Carmen, Danny's mom, orchestrated Michelle's conviction for the murder of Ben Warren. It looked like Danny and Michelle would be separated for quite a while after Michelle was put on death row. Hope decided that Victor didn't have room for her in his life, so she took their young son, Victor, Jr., and returned to her farm in Kansas. Ashley's pal, Kurt Costner, went with them. At the time, the writers presumably moved Hope off the canvas so they could tell the story in which Victor would marry Diane and then divorce her so he could wed a dying Nikki. There just wasn't room for Hope at the time. It's likely, however, that Hope and Victor Jr. will return down the line. (Michael J. Maloney)
