First Aired: November 28, 2000

The reason: these islands are a remnant of a supercontinent that broke up 200 million years ago. The result: “a living Jurassic Park” that's home to a frog the size of an ant and fish (a whale shark) that's 40 feet long. Then there's the world's largest nut, the fruit of the coco-de-mer palm. It can weigh 40 pounds and bears a striking resemblance to a female pelvis. Its nickname: “the forbidden fruit.”
