Reporter Orlando de Guzman visits the Philippine island of Mindanao, where Islamic rebels are fighting government troops. U.S. troops are also stationed there. De Guzman explores reasons for the uprising on the heavily Muslim island in interviews with rebels. Also: a March report examining charges that Palestinian photographers working for Western news organizations have been fired on by Israeli soldiers, usually with rubber bullets; and an offbeat 2001 piece on Bhutan, “the last country in the world to get televison,” according to series editor Stephen Talbott, who adds: “We see what happens when young Buddhist monks watch the World Wrestling Federation.”
