Profiling Richard Rodgers, who helped create such musicals as "Pal Joey," "Oklahoma!" and "Carousel" with lyricists Lorenz Hart and Oscar Hammerstein II. Included are performances by Diahann Carroll, John Coltrane, Frank Sinatra and Barbra Streisand; clips of John Raitt and Jan Clayton in the famous "bench scene" from "Carousel"; and Julie Andrews in a 1957 TV broadcast of "Cinderella." Daughters Linda and Mary, and Julie Andrews, Trevor Nunn and Andrew Lloyd Webber comment.
