Zayn Malik didn't waste any time in getting his solo career underway.
One Directioners will be relieved to know that he's not straying too far from the band's comfort zone. The weepy ballad features Malik singing softly over a mournful acoustic guitar.
The song was leaked by Malik's producer, Naughty Boy, in the midst of a Twitter argument between Naughty Boy and Malik's former bandmate, Louis Tomlinson. The tiff started when Naughty Boy tweeted a video Monday that said, "Naughty Boy saved Zaughty" and "Zaughty will rise." Clearly seeing that as a slam, Tomlinson replied in kind.
Naughty Boy, thinking Tomlinson was talking about a 2012 tweet about X Factor judge Louis Walsh, shot back. Tomlinson then clarified that he was referring to the video, to which Naughty Boy issued this mic drop:
let the music do the talking guys. thank us later. :) x https://t.co/j7V2c7v1Yl— Naughty Boy (@NaughtyBoyMusic) March 31, 2015
"I Won't Mind" has since been removed from SoundCloud, but you can listen to it here:
