Appearing on the show over the phone, Yolanda said her Lyme disease was one of - but not the only - reason she and the music producer decided to end their relationship after nine years. "Well, chronic long-term illness is extremely challenging," Yolanda said. "Not only for the person sick but also for the caregiver. It for sure changed the dynamic of the relationship.
"The truth is that we both worked through the difficult time through the best of our ability," the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star continued. "So rather than judging what went wrong, I pick to honor the great times that we shared in the last nine years. There were a wealth of good times."
The couple announced the divorce last week, just prior to the premiere of this season of Real Housewives, which chronicles the reality star's deteriorating condition. However, Yolanda said she's doing much better now than when she was filming the Bravo series.
"I am much better since the last time I saw you," she told the WWHL host Andy Cohen. "I have about 60 percent better brain function than I did in the last year. I can still only live and plan one day at a time. The exciting thing is watching the episodes and inspiring me, and I could see the progress that I have made. I am excited and grateful for that. I will continue to fight for a full recovery."
Yolanda and David married in November 2011. One year later, Yolanda and two children from her first marriage, Bella and Anwar, were diagnosed with Lyme disease. She has a third daughter, Gigi, also from a previous marriage, while David has five daughters after being married four times.
