Despite initial reports that Amy Winehouse might be attending the Grammy Awards on Sunday, her visa has been denied, People says. While a U.S. visa was first denied in January, a recent meeting at the U.S. Embassy in London suggested that she might be able to attend the event.

In a statement, Winehouse's rep said that "Amy has been progressing well since entering a rehabilitation clinic... and although disappointed with the decision, has accepted the ruling and will be concentrating on her recovery."

The artist, who has six nominations this year, would have been sharing the spotlight with Kanye West (never an easy feat, anyway), who has eight noms. Was this a fair call by the embassy? Or an unfair stroke of bad luck? - Anna Dimond
