WGN America Expands Drama Slate with Projects from Rescue Me Boss, Akiva Goldsman
WGN has added another original program to its slate, giving a straight-to-series order to Titans on Wednesday. The drama follows the Farrell family in the Appalachian mountains. Their reclusive home allows the Farrells autonomy from the law and society, creating a way of life they'll do anything to defend. Titans is created and written by the playwright Peter Mattei, who will executive-produce alongsideRescue Me's Peter Tolan, Paul Giamatti and Dan Carey.

WGN also announced pre-production and the launch of a writers' room for Underground, a pre-Civil War drama about slaves attempting to escape to freedom on the Underground Railroad and the mercenaries who hunt them down. Underground is created by Misha Green and Joe Polaski. The pair will executive-produce with Oscar-winning writer Akiva Goldsman.
