Watercooler: How Much Do We Love the Duets Judges?

No offense, all other singing competitions, but Duets' judges have totally won us over.

Damian Holbrook

No offense, all other singing competitions, but Duets' judges have totally won us over.
Last night, ABC's entry in the reality-music melee fired up its second episode with a handful of worthy reasons to watch (great vocals, original song choices), but none more enticing than the sheer fun of the show's quartet of coach-slash-mentors.
Unlike The Voice or Idol panels, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Nettles, John Legend and Robin Thicke all seem to be A) invested in helping their partners, B) fans of their fellow judges and C) open to critiquing the wannabes without watering it down with empty praise or taking jabs at their respective mentors. There's a genuine appeal to watching these four interact, encourage the singers and offer honest opinions with more depth than "you look really lovely tonight." That's how it's done, dawg.
What about you? Do you get a kick out of Duets' foursome? And how about the singers? Have a fave yet?
