Vikings Exclusive: Is Love in the Air for Lagertha and Heahmund?

Uh-oh, looks like Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen) has lost another one to Team Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) on Vikings.

In this exclusive sneak peek of Wednesday's episode, Heahmund (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) and the Queen of Kattegatt have an intense conversation about what brought the two of them together. According to Heahmund, it was fate that drew these unlikely warriors to each other and inspired Lagertha to save his life, but she isn't so sure.

Heahmund isn't one to be dissuaded, though, as he tells Lagertha he feels that their connection is so strong, so powerful, that he will fight alongside her in next week's midseason finale battle.

"I will fight for you, Lagertha. I will die for you," Heahmund declares.

Is it just us, or is there more than just a strategic alliance blooming here? Since Astrid was kidnapped, Lagertha has been single, and we all know that Heahmund is more than willing to forsake his vows of celibacy, so could we be seeing the seeds of romance being sowed in this moment?

We'll have to wait and see, but one thing's for certain: After that embarrassing defeat, Ivar having to see Heahmund fight for -- let alone potentially date -- his mortal enemy will only be rubbing salt in the wound.
