Lazaro Arbos, who was American Idol's last man standing until he was eliminated on last week's episode, says his goal was never to win a TV show.

And after a rough couple of weeks, during which he forgot the lyrics on two performances and was slammed by the judges, Arbos tells TVGuide.com that it was almost a relief when he was sent home.

"The first time they were really rough ... I cried on TV," Arbos says. "And after that, I promised myself that I would never cry on national TV again."
