As the mysteries deepen on UPN's Veronica Mars (Wednesdays at 9 pm/ET) this season, fans want to know: Will Veronica hook up with Weevil? What happened to her dog? And where did Wallace's bro go? TVGuide.com readers sent in their burning questions for the show's producers and Mars creator Rob Thomas once again answered them in this exclusive Q&A.
Question: I don't have a question. I just wanted to say thank-you for creating such an awesome show. I'm a 38-year-old high school teacher and I'm doing my best to get my students to watch it. Keep up the good work! — Jayne
Rob Thomas: Thanks so much.
Question: Is there some significance to the necklace that Logan wears? He never seems to take it off. — Wally Wright
Thomas: Only that he really likes it.
Question: Do the writers' or actors' personal preferences influence the Duncan or Logan triangle? Do the fans have any influence? — Tori
Thomas: The fan reaction tends to be too far behind where we're writing to influence us very much. Right now we've aired three episodes, but we're writing Episode 12. There is a plan that we're sticking to which we developed at the beginning of the year. It's been my experience that fans want Veronica happy right now. They want her problems solved, and they want her to be with the "right" guy and happy immediately. If we followed the fan consensus on what we should do, I'm not sure what stories we'd have left to do in what I hope are a few more seasons of the show.
Question: Have you ever thought of having Veronica get together with Weevil or Wallace? — Karen
Question: Where is Veronica's dog, Backup? — Jeff
Thomas: He keeps leaving the room just before Veronica enters. You'll see him in Episode 5.
Question: Is the bus driving off a cliff a nod to the movie The Sweet Hereafter? — Laurie
Thomas: It wasn't, but we've thought a lot about that movie in the past few months. The shot of the bus dropping through the ice in the lake was spectacular.
Question: Will we ever see Wallace's little brother again? Or has he disappeared the way Donna's little sister did on That '70s Show? — D.L.
Thomas: Yep, you'll see him again. Very soon, as a matter of fact.
