Original heartthrob Klaus might be getting his own series.
An upcoming episode of The Vampire Diaries will act as a backdoor pilot for a potential spin-off series that would star Joseph Morgan and focus on the Original family, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
Why is The Vampire Diaries' Klaus sitting pretty? Joseph Morgan explains
The April 25 episode will follow Klaus back to the supernatural melting pot that is the French Quarter of New Orleans — a town he helped build centuries ago — where he's reunited with his diabolical former protégé Marcel.
Should the episode prove successful, a spin-off of Diaries would be in consideration for next season that would be written and executive-produced by Julie Plec, alongside Alloy's Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo. Phoebe Tonkin, who plays werewolf Hayley on Diaries, would also star in the series.
