First Look: Paul Wesley Directs The Vampire Diaries

Paul Wesley waited patiently for four seasons before sinking his teeth into directing an episode of The CW's The Vampire Diaries.

"I was very strategic," says the actor, who plays angsty bloodsucker Stefan Salvatore. "After I shadowed directors and sat in the editing room, they finally said, 'OK, let's give it a shot.'"

Wesley goes behind the camera for April 17's twisty episode, which focuses on the Travelers' occupation of Mystic Falls and troubles in the show's supernatural purgatory. "I was expecting some hazing from the cast," Wesley says, "but everyone was so supportive."
