Corpses turn up on a weekly basis in Mystic Falls. But you may be surprised to hear that most of the cast of The CW's Vampire Diaries have survived their own encounters with the Grim Reaper. In honor of Halloween, they tell their tales.

Joseph Morgan (Klaus):
"I was in Buenos Aires driving in a car with tinted windows and ended up with a loaded gun in my face. I just froze."

Paul Wesley (Stefan):
"I was in a car accident when I was 17 and flipped 12 times and landed upside down in a ravine. I'd put my seatbelt on just five minutes before it happened."

Steven R. McQueen (Jeremy):
"I went to Russia with my family and when we got off the plane, there were officers with machine guns pointed right at us. It was terrifying."

Kat Graham (Bonnie):
"I was swimming in Cannes when I was 12 and started drowning by myself out in the ocean. Someone had to come and get me out."

Ian Somerhalder (Damon):
"Once [while flying out of] the Miami airport, there was some electrical problem that caused our plane to plummet thousands of feet. Slicing through the air, I looked out the window and saw the ocean getting closer and closer. I freaked out."

Nina Dobrev (Elena):
"I had a sudden allergic reaction to something I didn't even know I was allergic to and almost died. I had to be hospitalized. It was really scary."

Candice Accola (Caroline):
"I was on a bomb-threat plane to Spain. They had to turn the plane around and land in New York. We were all held for 24 hours until they found out this disgruntled but beautiful flight attendant had written the threat in lipstick on the bathroom mirror."
