USA has renewed dystopian sci-fi series Colony for a second season, the network announced Thursday.

"[Co-creators] Carlton [Cuse] and Ryan [Condal] have successfully delivered a story that tests the strengths and weaknesses of a society in duress, and the bonds of a family divided," network president Chris McCumber said in a statement. "Colony's performance across all platforms has been impressive, and we can't wait to see where the story takes us."

Colony: Who needs aliens when you have Josh Holloway?

The series, which stars Josh Holloway and Sarah Wayne Callies as a couple trying to reunite with their son in a near-future military-occupied Los Angeles, is in the midst of a 10-episode first season.

Colony airs Thursdays at 10/9c on USA.
