The Twin Peaks Revival Is Actually Happening

Reboot fever continues. David Lynch and Showtime are reviving Twin Peaksas a nine-episode limited series, Showtime announced Monday.

Lynch and co-creator Mark Frost confirmed the news, tweeting in tandem: "Dear Twitter Friends: That gum you like is going to come back in style!" #damngoodcoffee"

The series, which will celebrate its 25th anniversary next year, will premiere in 2016 and act as a present-day sequel to the original. While it's unknown who from the original cast will return (fingers crossed for Log Lady!), Lynch and Frost will write every episode. Lynch will also direct each installment which, judging from the newly released promo, will feature the same delightfully creepy music.

Though some revivals (cough, cough Arrested Development) failed to live up to the original series, at least Twin Peaks fell from grace during its first run, so there isn't fear of ruining its perfect legacy.
