Since 1988, Heathers has stood strong as a cult classic to audiences everywhere, and now TV Land is capitalizing on that fandom with a brand new anthology series.

According to Deadline Hollywood, the network has placed a pilot script order written by Butter scribe Jason Micallef. In the first season, set in the present day, Heathers follows Veronica Sawyer — played in the movie by Winona Ryder — who's dealing with a different but equally vicious group of Heathers. Dating a murderous psychopath? Figuring out what to wear to her best friend's suicide? All in a day's work.

Beetlejuice 2 is happening, according to Winona Ryder.

While pilot script orders come and go faster than contestants on The Bachelor, a potential series adaptation of Heathers may be a goldmine for TV Land. Could this be the network's UnReal/Mr. Robot moment?
