Country Superstar Trisha Yearwood Will Play Mary in Fox's The Passion
The musical retelling of Jesus' final hours will air live from New Orleans in March
Grammy-winning country star Trisha Yearwood will play Mary, the Mother of God, in Fox's musical retelling of the Passion, the network announced Friday.
The network also announced that Latin music star Prince Royce will play the disciple Peter.
Yearwood and Royce join previously announced host and narrator Tyler Perry. The actor playing Jesus has not yet been announced.

The Passion is the Biblical story of Jesus Christ's final hours on Earth. This musical is set in the present day, and will air live from New Orleans on Palm Sunday, March 20, at 8/7c on Fox.
