Tracy Morgan remains in critical condition after a six-vehicle accident early Saturday morning, and is expected to remain hospitalized for several weeks, his rep said.
The Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock alum was returning home from a stand-up performance in Delaware when his chauffeured limo bus was involved in a wreck with two tractor-trailers on the New Jersey Turnpike at roughly 1 a.m. One of the trucks slammed into the limo bus from behind, overturning it. Morgan's friend and fellow comedian James McNair, who was in Morgan's SUV, was killed, and seven others were injured.
"While Tracy remains in critical condition, he has been more responsive today, which is an incredibly encouraging sign," Morgan's rep Lewis Kay said in a statement, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "He sustained a number of injuries, including a broken leg, a broken femur, a broken nose and several broken ribs. He had surgery earlier today on his leg. We expect him to remain in the hospital for several weeks. His family is tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans."

Kevin Roper, a Walmart employee and the driver of the Walmart tractor-trailer that hit Morgan's vehicle, has been charged with one count of death by auto and four counts of assault by auto. On Saturday evening, he turned himself in and posted bail, reports The Wrap. Roper is expected to appear in court on Monday.
Police do not believe alcohol was a factor in the accident.
