Embattled Toronto mayor Rob Ford, who recently admitted to smoking crackwhile in office and had an obscene outburst on live television during a press conference last week, tells CNN's Bill Weir that he doesn't have an addiction.

"I'm not an addict," Ford, 44, tells Weir. "I'm not an alcoholic. I'm not a drug addict."

Of his decision to publicly admit to smoking crack, Ford says: "I'm not going to run around and be phony and lie. ... You know what? I made mistakes. I drank too much. I smoked some crack sometime. What can I say?"

The politician claims he hasn't smoked crack in "over a year."

Ford and his wife, Renata, have two children — Stephanie, 8, and Douglas, 5. "I'm the best father around," Ford tells CNN.

On Monday, Toronto city council members will decide whether or not to strip Ford of his powers and effectively make him a mayor in name only. Ford has thus far refused to step down from his post; however, he tells Weir "I don't look at myself as the mayor. I look at myself as just a normal, regular person."

Weir's full interview with Ford will air on Anderson Cooper 360 Monday night at 8/7c. Watch a teaser below:
