Your Pet Wants This, Too!

8/7c Animal Planet
Pets are like family to those who love them, and if you think your pet has everything it needs, think again. With the holidays approaching, host Dan Schachner guides us through the plethora of pet-friendly gadgets on the market. Things like talking water bowls and toilet-training kits top the lists. And if you want to know how these items came to be, Dan chats it up with some of the inventors who, as it turns out, are pretty crazy about their pets too! — Rhoda Charles
Debbie Macomber's Call Me Mrs. Miracle
8/7c Hallmark
Doris Roberts returns as the magical Emily Merkle — dubbed Mrs. Miracle for her habit of producing positive changes in seemingly hopeless situations — in this sequel to 2009's Mrs. Miracle. This time around, Mrs. Merkle takes a seasonal job in the toy section of a department store during Christmas. Slumping sales and dispirited customers have left the family store in a struggle to stay afloat, but things begin to turn around once Mrs. Merkle is on the job. — Brie Hearn

Rush Zone: Guardians of the Core

Ish has gotten to meet a lot of famous NFL players during his adventures, and tonight he meets Hall of Famer Marcus Allen. College Football
2/1c NBC
The tradition, passion and fierce competition are second-to-none when Grambling State and Southern University meet at the Superdome in New Orleans. And there's 60 minutes of pretty intense football, too. That's the theme at the Bayou Classic, a showcase of superior marching-band performances bookended by a matchup of SWAC rivals now in its 37th year. With an 8-2 record that mirrors Southern's 2-8, Grambling has cracked the top-25 rankings for FCS (formerly I-AA). But just like Army and Navy, these teams only see each other on their schedule, resulting in an all-time series knotted at 18-18. — Roger Leister

College Basketball
10:30/9:30c ESPN2
A pair of traditional aces in college hoops get a look at their early-season hands on a neutral court as Arizona faces Kansas in the Las Vegas Invitational. The Wildcats are coming off a bitterly disappointing first season under coach Sean Miller that ended the program's 25-year streak of NCAA bids, but sophomore big man Derrick Williams provides hope for starting a new streak. Kansas, meanwhile, may still be kept awake at night by visions of Northern Iowa and the Ali Farokhmanesh three-pointer that stuck a second-round dagger in their title hopes last March. The Jayhawks' hopes also revolve around the frontcourt, as the Morris twins, Marcus and Markieff, seemingly improve with each contest. — Roger Leister
