Ready to meet your new Spider-Man? Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have announced that Tom Holland will play the famous web-slinger in upcoming installments in the cinematic universe.

While he won't swing into a theater near you in a standalone film until 2017 (he's expected to appear in next year's Captain America: Civil War), it's never too early to get to know your new friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

1. He's got moves

The 19-year-old Brit's big break came in 2006 when he was spotted by a choreographer while performing with his dance school at a festival. Auditions and two years of training later, he made his debut in the West End production of Billy Elliot the Musical as Michael, the titular dancing boy's best friend, before later taking on the lead role.

Here he is talking about the production:

2. He's done The Impossible

After hanging up his tap shoes from Billy Elliot in 2010, Holland landed his first film role alongside Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor in 2012's The Impossible, the true story of a family caught in Thailand during the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.

3. He's already shared the screen with Thor

Holland has already spent some time with another Marvel hero, starring alongside Chris Hemsworth in Ron Howard's upcoming In the Heart of the Sea. Check out the trailer for the film, hitting theaters in December.

4. He's got some stunts ready to go

Either Holland just loves playing with slow-motion videos on Instagram, or he's been offering his fans some foreshadowing. If the stunts he's posted are any indication, we think he's just excited to be swinging around as Spidey.

5. He loves Taylor Swift too

Do we really need to explain...?
